Sweet Fruit Dip
A Sweet Fruit Dip with only three ingredients. For a festive occasion serve the dip in your prettiest bowl with a good variety of cut up fruit.
Here's a quick but tasty dip for fruit or cake chunks made with only three ingredients. Cream cheese, marshmallow cream and lemon juice come together to make a dip similar to the one that comes with many fruit trays sold in grocery stores.
Printable recipe at the end of post.
Sweet Fruit Dip
- 1 small container marshmallow cream/fluff
- 8-oz. cream cheese, room temperature or very soft
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
How to make it:
In a medium sized bowl, using a hand mixer, blend the marshmallow cream and cream cheese together thoroughly. Beat in the lemon juice. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serve in a pretty bowl with cut up fruit for easy dipping. Toothpicks make it easy to choose your favourite fruit from the platter.
Suggested fruit: cantaloupe, honeydew or any melon, red or green apple* wedges, plum wedges, chunks of banana*, grapes, orange segments, strawberries, etc. Cut large fruit into bit-sized pieces.
Makes about 2 cups.
*Note: To keep apple slices or banana chunks from browning soak in lightly salted cold water for 10 minutes. Rinse in fresh water and dry before placing on fruit tray.
Marshmallow cream or fluff as many know it is one of the three ingredients in this dip recipe. The Jet-Puffed jar is the smallest and holds 198 grams or approximately 7 ounces. You will use the full jar. The Marshmallow Fluff container is much larger and holds 16 ounces. If you have the fluff you'll need a scant ½ jar. Marshmallow cream/fluff contains no gelatin.
Mix the cream cheese and marshmallow cream together until thoroughly combined.
I switched to a hand mixer as things weren't going too well with the spoon, lol. Beat in the lemon juice. I used 3 tablespoons altogether.
The recipe makes 2 cups. Pictured above is half the recipe.
Supply toothpicks for easy dipping.
A spoon makes it easy to place the dip on your own plate and dip from that.
I started out with a few pieces of fruit but went back for more.
